Reviewing "The Wrestler"
starring Mickey Rourke
In select theatres today!

I was very pleased with the film. I wanted and expected a good story about wrestling. Not just wrestling in general, but a story about the effects of the business and how it is more real then people give it credit for. This movie definetly did just that with the same message. Well the movie had a few messages but this was definetly one.  I do believe that this movie also makes wrestling look a little bad with the steroid use. Considering it is much more strict in the rule of violation within the big wrestling leagues today. So as far as that part goes i think the movie is a little stereotypical but then again steroids were always a big issue in wrestling and in some ways still is. Mickey Rourke did a fascinating job as the lead character. Another thing i did not like about the movie was the angles and shots during the wrestling matches. I found they were poor and could have been done much better. Overall, i loved the movie and the ending was classic and unique.  I recommend this movie to every person that is and was once a wrestling. Even those that are not wrestling fans, because this movie takes you inside of not only the world of wrestling but the life behind the atheletes of the controversal "sport." Look forward to the cast and crew winning awards for this outstanding movie.
